How fast can I lose weight?
That depends on how much you have to lose, how well you adhere to your diet, and a number of other variables that will be discussed during your first visit to the clinic. Generally, the safety of the patient and long-term maintenance of the weight loss are more important than how fast you lose the weight.
What do you use to help me lose weight?
Obesity is a chronic disease like high blood pressure or heart disease or any other disease. After you visit the doctor, a program will be designed that fits your particular situation. We only use FDA approved medications and sound medical programs. We do not use experimental or unproven medications.
Are any of these medications habit forming?
No. The medications are safe, FDA approved, and are dispensed by a physician who is very familiar with their use. You will be monitored while on medications, to detect any side effects that may develop. The medications are extremely safe and we have not seen any negative permanent side effects.
If I stop will I gain my weight back?
Regardless of how you lose your weight, if you go back to your old eating habits, you will gain back your weight. At Soboba, we offer a maintenance program that will help you keep off the excess weight that you have lost. We will discuss this with you at the start of the program.
What do the doctor visits cost?
Once you are a patient at Soboba, you can visit the doctor as often as you need to answer all your questions. There are no charges for the doctor visits; we only ask that you make an appointment.
What kind of weight loss programs do you offer?
We offer only medically approved programs, consisting of dietary counseling, exercise and medications.
Are there a lot of food restrictions?
No. There are restrictions on how much you eat, not what kind of food you eat.
